A knee brace for dislocated Patella helps to stabilize it and to keep it in place, during normal activities or while playing sports.
A Patella is simply a bone connected to the Thigh Bone (Femur) and the Tibia by two tendons, the Quadriceps tendon and the Patellar tendon. Kneecap serves as a protection to the knee joint and related tissues. A dislocated Kneecap happens when the knee Patella goes out of its normal position, following a strong direct impact or a sudden twist.
To prevent a dislocated patella, choose a specialized soft patella knee brace or sleeve. If you feel that your knee is getting a lot of pressure on the job, or you are a very active athlete; this type of knee supports would protect your kneecap, and prevents its dislocation.
If you are already experiencing a Patellar dislocation, you may need a hinged knee brace with range of motion ROM, to stabilize your kneecap in its normal position.
