Sprained Thumb Splint

Thumb splint for sprained thumb:

A thumb splint is your best solution to reduce pain related to a sprained thumb. A thumb sprain is a very common thumb injury, it can happen suddenly, in sport or other daily activities. Thumb supports models exist for every sprain severity grade. For light or moderate twisted thumb, use a more versatile thumb brace. For severe thumb ligament tear, use a thumb Spica splint.

What is a thumb sprain?

A thumb sprain happens when a ligament is torn, following a sudden and rough fall, or an injury in contact sports. This type of thumb injury can be mild, with light pain and swelling; or severe with an acute pain, where ligament is completely damaged. Most common thumb sprain type is related to UCL (Ulnar Collateral Ligament) tear, commonly named Gamekeeper's thumb and Skier's thumb. Sprained thumb related to torn Radial Collateral Ligament (RCL) is less common.

Twisted thumb treatment:

Treatment of twisted thumb will depend on the severity of damage to torn ligament. Some cases may require a ligament reconstruction surgery. For post-op recovery or to treat a moderate thumb sprain, use a Spica thumb brace as a support. This thumb splint would stabilize your thumb and help you avoiding unwanted movements.
